NTAGGL President’s Message:
NTAGGL, North Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders is an Association of lending professionals and supporting organizations who utilize the guarantee programs of the Small Business Administration, including SBA 7a, SBA 504 and the Farmers Home Administration.
NTAGGL, a non-profit association serves the North Texas area and membership is open to all Lenders, which does not only include banks and Federally Insured organizations, but Certified Development Companies and numerous other lenders. NTAGGL also supports other Small Business Activities such as Emerging Leaders Program, an educational degree program for small business owners, Deal Day – recognizing small businesses counseled through the SBDC and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses.
Membership in NTAGGL is quick and easy. Lenders and Lender organization memberships are free. Associate membership are $500.00 per year and members receive significant support and recognition at all functions of NTAGGL to its lenders. Review our new website, and you will see just a small token of support we provide our Associate Members who help make NTAGGL possible. Associates who take advantage of the support offered to them as an Associate member will profit in their businesses from the available networking they receive.
How do we support and recognize our members? We do this through various networking groups within the Small Business Lending industry, our NTAGGL quarterly luncheons, NTAGGL educational training, happy hour events, a golf tournament, and special events that have been designed to promote individual and collective organizations. We also have a Region VI annual Mid America Lenders Conference (MALC) hosted by various Region VI “AGGL” organizations in one of the metropolitan areas where networking and training are provided along with legislative updates from the SBA.
Since inception, NTAGGL has worked side by side over the past 10+ years with the Dallas/Fort Worth SBA District Office. Thank you to Herb Austin, the DFW District Director (serving 72 Texas counties including Dallas County and Tarrant counties) and Ted James, the Region VI Administrator (serving the five-state region of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and New Mexico) and their staff of professionals for their guidance and support over these years.
We provide an annual scholarship program where we award six $1,000 scholarships, assisting in higher education of our future leaders and business owners. Our most recent Past President, Patricia Zelayandia, was the first recipient of the scholarship this program, so this organization has definitely received it’s return on investment in her education. NTAGGL revenues from events including the annual Ken Byrd Cancer Survivor’s Golf Tournament is donated to Baylor Health Care System Foundation to support cancer research. Each Christmas, NTAGGL proudly adopts up to 90 Salvation Army Angels and shops on Black Friday so the Angels get over $100 retail in gifts.
